The Green Point Stadium is being built especially for World Cup 2010 South Africa. Named after the suburb of Green Point in which the stadium is located. Based only a short distance from the ocean and has iconic mountains in the background. Ideally located so that it is only a short distance from the transport depots of the city.

Due to be completed in 2009 it will have 70,000 seats in the stadium. It will not be the only stadium in Cape Town, there is also Newlands but this is predominantly used for rugby.
