The Venues

Here is a look at the host cities that will be putting on the show in 2010...

Below is an easy to understand map showing the 9 venues that will be hosting the month long tournament from 11 June to 11 July 2010:

Venues range in size from the massive to the intimate: Soccer City(Johannesburg) has a 94,700 seating capacity while Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg can squeeze in 42,000 football-mad supporters at a squeeze!

Venues can be found in all the major cities across South Africa - Cape Town's newly renovated Green Point Stadium can host 70,ooo-plus fans and has what can be described as arguably the most scenic backdrop in the whole of sport - the picturesque Table Mountain rolling down to the Cape Aghulhas and Waterfront(a popular tourist destination at the heart of the Cape Town metropolis).

Other stadiums can be found in Durban,Bloemfontein, a second stadium in Johannesburg(Ellis Park), Port Elizabeth. Pretoria,Nelspruit & Polokwane.

Each venue will have its own unique feeling and if you are able to attend more than one game(lucky you!) then I strongly recommend attending a game at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town, along with one of the smaller venues.

Alot of the ticketing companies are selling packages with this in mind - 1 'big' game venue along with a second ticket to a smaller venue - obviously with 'pushing' the smaller venues to ensure full stadiums throughout the tournament.
